This is a translation project report.The source text of the project is selected from Chapter Seven of the book Thinking Skills for the Digital Generation: The Development of Thinking and Learning in the Age of Information.The book is a collection of essays coauthored by Balu H.Athreya and Chrystalla Mouza.The part of thesis presents a complete structure with clear logic and rigorous proof,mainly discussing how to think smartly and ways to avoid errors in thinking in the digital age.Meanwhile,the translation report also enlightens our domestic readers on the cultivation of a critical thinking to face challenges in this age of information.The report consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction to the translation report,including the background,significance,structure of the report and the preparations of the project.Chapter Two focuses on the analysis of the source text such as the introduction of authors,the book's contents and the selected source text,and its linguistic features of the source text are discussed.Chapter Three provides a theoretical basis put forward by Nord and its application to the project.Difficulties,including polysemy and how to translate attributive clauses,and related solutions such as rephrase,division,inversion and repetition,are elaborated in Chapter Four.The last Chapter is a conclusion,summarizing lessons from the project and problems to be solved.
