Research On Liang Chi’I-ch’ao’s Private Morality Thought

Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao published his article "The theory of public morality" in the New people newspaper.The article has attracted extensive attention.The theory of public morality also became one of the most influential theories in modern times.In fact,in the later of Doctrine of New People,Liang wrote an article "The theory of private morality" which made a great supplement and correction to his public moral theory.Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao’s private morals proposition also pulled open the prelude to private morality research in China.This paper takes Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao’s thought of "private morality" as the research object,and chose "Doctrine of New People" and "Moral Education Guide" as the research text,and try to summarize the thoughts of Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao,which is scattered in two texts,into a relatively complete system of thought.First of all,this paper summarizes the background,origin and specific connotation of the "public morality" thought and the "private morality" thought put forward by Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao in "Doctrine of New People ".Then it analyzes the moral education and ideological origin of the private morality in moral education.The paper presents the development of Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao’s thought from advocating public morality to emphasize personal morality importance to deepen the concept of personal morals thought development,and further analyses the reason of this thought contradictions.Second,based on the two books,summing up the path of Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao’s personal morality cultivate:the way of moral education,parent of cultivate one’s morality and way of doing things.The methods of moral education are analyzed from the six programs of "argumentation","determination","conscience","saving","evaluating"and "applying".Finally,this paper discusses the historical influence and moral value of Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao’s thought of "private morality".Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao’s thought of "private morality" objectively laid the theoretical foundation for China’s bourgeois revolution,brought enlightenment to the new culture movement,and set the direction for the intellectuals to study.In contemporary Chinese moral education practice,we need to learn from Liang Chi’I-Ch’ao’s private moral thoughts.To follow the group order,respect individual value as a starting point,creative and innovative development of resources of moral education thought.We should develop moral education on the basis of demarcating the boundary between public morality and private morality,and provide moral support and spiritual impetus for the modernization of our country and the harmonious development of society.The conclusion of the last chapter is a comprehensive overview of the theoretical innovation points of this article.
