During the wei and jin dynasties,Buddhism flourished, and rulers not only advocated Buddhism, built buddhist temples, but even invited buddhists to enter the world. The literati also had a lot of communication with the monks, and they corresponded frequently with each other to discuss the dharma and express their own aspirations. These letters are preserved in historical materials for later generations to taste. This paper, based on the historical background of jin dynasty, studied the letters of monks in the jin dynasty, and made a comprehensive and detailed study on the letters of the monks in that era for the first time. The selected corpus contains both the characteristics of the epistle language and is often an excellent buddhist interpretation. At the same time,it is often a graceful prose style. Therefore, this paper focuses on the difficult words in the interpretation of the letters: the buddhist words are divided into transliteration words and free translation words. In interpreting the words, the author focuses on the source of his words. In the study of neologism, some words not included in the Chinese dictionary are listed. From the beginning of the letter, explore the fusion of Buddha road in jin dynasty. The innovation of this paper mainly lies in: 1.Currently,there are no scholars who have systematically studied the letter words of the monks in the jin dynasty.2.It is a unique and innovative perspective that Buddhism and Taoism learn from each other in terms of vocabulary. At present, there are few relevant achievements in academia, and there are still many places worth developing.
