The Study Of Chinese Mobile Dictionaries Commonly Used By Foreign Students

With the development of electronic information technology and mobile communication technology,application software based on smart phones and tablet computers has become the most popular learning tools for Chinese learners.In this type of application software,dictionary software have been most widely used and have the largest number of users.More and more foreign students use dictionary software to assist Chinese learning.With the development of science and technology,the function of dictionary software become more and more powerful,various types of dictionary software emerged in an endless stream.But what is the current use status of foreign students?What are the most commonly used dictionaries?What are the advantages and disadvantages of these dictionaries?This article will explore these issues.It is understood that the most commonly used mobile dictionaries for foreign students are:Pleco,Naver,Google translate and trainChinese.This article examines the problems existing in these four kinds of dictionaries in words phonetic transcription,Chinese characters annotation,word interpretation and example sentences.According to the demand of foreign students in the questionnaire,we put forward corresponding suggestions to the future software design and development,teachers' teaching and the use of foreign students.This article is divided into five parts:The first chapter is introduction,it introduces the reasons for the topic,research purposes,significance and status.Through the literature review,we describe the use statues on the use of Chinese learning dictionaries at home and abroad.Finally,the research ideas and methods of this thesis are illustrated.In the second chapter,through the questionnaire survey,we introduce the use and demand statues of Chinese mobile dictionary of foreign students,for that we can learn about their needs for the future.The third chapter analyzes the four types of mobile dictionaries commonly used by foreign students and summarizes the functions and features of these four kinds of dictionaries.Based on the two traditional Chinese paper dictionaries,we analyze the shortcomings of the four types of mobile dictionaries from four aspects:words phonetic transcription,Chinese characters annotation,word interpretation and example sentences.In the fourth chapter,combined with the questionnaire survey,we learned about the use and demand of mobile dictionaries,and suggestions are given to the students,Chinese teachers and developers and designers of mobile dictionaries.The fifth chapter summarizes viewpoints and main conclusions of the thesis.
