With the speeding-up of informationization and globalization, the global language service industry is booming. In accordance with the report of Common Sense Advisory, the market demand for global outsourcing totalled 38.16 billion US dollars in 2015,and 29.885 billion and 34.78 billion US dollars in 2011 and 2013 respectively, which shows rapid expansion in the language service industry.Requirements for translation industry has been changing gradually.Translation project managers who master the skill of translation project management are badly needed.Although a variety of MTI courses have been somehow adjusted in domestic and overseas universities, what universities offer cannot match the demand from translation industry. Therefore,it is important to integrate the course of translation project management into the MTI program so as to cultivate a good translator. In the light of current situation, possible trend of translation industry and talent demand, this research aims to uncover the shortage of MTI training by combining observation of teaching and learning of MTI programs of some universities in China and similar programs abroad, getting the picture of the standard for translators of translation company in Fujian Province and making profound investigation about demand in the translation field.Since China has joined the World Trade Organization in December,2001,it's more closely connected with the countries of the world. In the context of globalization, the traditional individual translation workshops have transformed into translation industry chain.Paradoxically,Graduated students may handle the brief translation tasks proficiently, while sometimes they couldn't handle the large scale project of translation tasks with great demands of speed well. The reason behind this phenomenon may as follows:for one thing, many MTI programs still remain on the level of theoretical education of translation and sometimes students trained in this way do not seem to be able to meet the demand of translation markets;for another thing, many students are lack of the experience of translation team. Therefore,it's necessary to integrate the course of translation project management into the MTI program.Meanwhile, students should practice team work collaboratively in the actual field of translation.Accordingly, the courses should be rearranged in order to cultivate better translators.
