| With the constant implementation of the "going out" strategy of Chinese culture,the Confucius Institute has thrived as a powerful platform for promoting Chinese language and Chinese culture.At the same time,how to improve the quality of teaching in Confucius Institutes and make the sustainable development of Confucius Institute become one of the most urgent problems to be discussed.At present,PPP Approach is commonly adopted in overseas Chinese teaching,which poses certain problems.During my teaching at the Confucius Institute at Rome University,I found that there were some problems such as poor communication skills,low class opening rates,and dull classroom atmosphere.Task-Based Language Teaching(TBLT)is a language teaching approach that emphasizes "learning by doing" and "learning by using" in the 1980s.It organically combines language learning with language use,emphasizing meaning expression.In this context,we attempt to introduce the TBLT into the elementary Chinese course in the Confucius Institute at Rome University with a view to improving the teaching situation and improving the teaching effect.This article attempts to answer the following three questions:1.Does TBLT have a positive effect on improving the teaching effectiveness of elementary Chinese course in the Confucius Institute at Rome University?2.Do Italian learners like and accept TBLT?3.Compared with the PPP Approach,TBLT is superior?What are the deficiencies?Based on the above three questions,we adopted the experimental method,questionnaire survey method and interview method to take the elementary Chinese learners in the Confucius Institute at Rome University as the research object.According to the learning characteristics and learning needs of the Italian learners,we adopted TBLT in the experimental class and PPP Approach in the control class.This paper presents a complete demonstration of the task-oriented classroom teaching design,specifically describes how to implement the task-oriented teaching with national characteristics in the Confucius Institute at Rome University.Finally,through the students’ final exam scores and self-evaluations,the experimental conclusion is drawn:Compared with the PPP Approach,TBLT can improve the language skills and language knowledge of learners,and also help to improve learning Interest in learning,active classroom atmosphere.At the same time,the paper summarizes the shortcomings of TBLT and puts forward some reasonable suggestions on how to implement TBLT in the context of overseas Confucius Institutes.This article is divided into six chapters:The first chapter mainly elaborates the origins and significance of this article,the review of relevant research and the research methods.The second chapter investigate and analyze the overall situation of elementary Chinese courses with the learners and teachers in Confucius Institute at Rome University.The third chapter introduces the experimental design,including the purpose of the experiment,the experimental object,the experimental procedure and the experimental process.The fourth chapter presents the case teaching of TBLT in elementary Chinese course,showing the specific teaching steps.The fifth chapter mainly expounds the implementation of TBLT.Through the analysis of experimental data,it summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of TBLT compared with PPP Approach and the reasonable suggestions of implementing TBLT.The sixth chapter is the conclusion.It summarizes the article,points out the shortcomings in the research,and forecasts the future research direction. |
