Considering the population explosion and the sharp contradiction between man and land,the cash crops had more economic advantages than grain crops.So the cash crops had been gradually developed during Qing Dynasty.The transformation of agricultural structure had led to the reduction of grain crops,and stimulated the development of cash crops such as cotton and mulberry.The development of cash crops had been fluctuating in a dynamic process.In early Qing Dynasty,its development could be treated as a kind of recovery;During the middle of Qing Dynasty,it had developed to its peak,which performed in the expansion of planting area and advances in planting technology.And its developing trend lasted to the late Qing Dynasty,but its social status was declining nationwide.The development and the trade of cotton and mulberry were the important factors in promoting township development in Suzhou.Based on the increasing of the number and the structure of the town,there came out some sort of specialized towns,which was selling cotton or mulberry only.And it became a path for translating the works to the whole country,even to the world.But Suzhou's township economy was running to seed after the First Opium War and Taiping Rebellion in the late Qing Dynasty.
