Logic Impact On Note-Taking In Chinese-English Consecutive Interpreting For Interpreters

Note-taking could play a positive role in conveying helpful information, such aswords, symbols, and numbers in English-Chinese consecutive interpretation. In themeanwhile, the logic of the notes is essential, and even an important indicatorthroughout the full story. It directly affects the logical coherence of interpreting,makes the interpreting clear and clarified, and is easy to be accepted by the audience.It greatly enhances semantic understanding among speakers, interpreter, and theaudience, makes communication straightforward. This paper studies the case ofChinese-English consecutive interpretation on “China’s Forum---China’s Diplomacy”,analyses the logic problems in note-taking as well as the impact in interpreting text indetails. The article uses the case study, comparative method, cited reference etc. tomake a profound analysis of logic function in note-taking, and proposescountermeasures to those problems. It is hoped to improve interpreting text quality forinterpreters.
