The prospectus is a normative document to provide details for the public to know about the sponsor and the company to be set up,to explain the issue of shares of the company,and to guide the public to buy company shares.As more and more businesses seek to list abroad,the importance of prospectus translation is increasingly highlighted.As a type of business and legal document,the prospectus itself has many features,including vast space,various texts,abundant parts of speech,high professionalism,a large number of proper nouns and abbreviations.The translation of prospectus not only requires translators to master the relevant professional knowledge,but also have certain information searching ability to ensure the accuracy,rigor and professionalism of prospectus translation.Based on the textual characteristics of the prospectus,the author takes functional equivalence theory as the overall guiding theory and takes accuracy,rigor and consistency as the principle to carry out the translation.After the author reviews the whole translation practice,the practice report is formed.In this practical report,the author introduces the nature and the background of the mission in chapter one,describes the overall translation process in chapter two.In chapter three,the author analyzes the lexical,syntactic and stylistic cases respectively,and details the problems encountered by the author and their solutions in the process of translation.This practice report discusses the general characteristics of the prospectus and the issues that need to be paid attention to in the translation,with an expectation to provide reference and help for the translation practice of the prospectus in the future.
