The editors in North Korea and China wrote Chinese language learning materials,but there are differences between those materials.To do a comparative analysis I chose two textbooks,Life Chinese and Happy Chinese,to show the differences between the two types of publications.I analyzed structure,vocabulary,grammar,Chinese characters,text,practice,culture,and various other parts.I examined the advantages and disadvantages for learners and teachers as well as offered suggestions to improve the textbooks based on my research and teaching experience.I hope my thesis can offer useful information to editors in charge of revising the current textbooks or writing new versions.I also hope my thesis can assist Chinese volunteer teachers in helping them to know the difference between the textbooks published in China and those published in North Korea.
