Pattern Design Of Silk Scarf With Dunhuang Frescoes Elements

The Dunhuang Caves is the largest grottoes in our country even in the world.The frescoes,which are exquisite in craftsmanship,rich in images and brilliant in colors,are China’s art treasures.Appearing as early as in Beiliang Period,it has ineffable historical and cultural values.The author takes Dunhuang murals frescoes as the research object to analyze its patterns and colors,and through studying the applications of its patterns and colors on modern clothing design,the graphic design,jade carving design,etc.,the author attempts to understand the designer’s design intention and methods,so as to take the above methods as the reference for my own silk scarf design.The author starts artistic pattern creation of silk scarf on the basis of the artistic abstraction of Dunhuang frescoes elements and the study of composition modes of famous silk scarf brands.Through the inherit designs of pattern and color,pattern modeling of Dunhuang frescoes and modern aesthetics,and modern pattern modeling and colors of Dunhuang frescoes,the three different pattern modelings can be used to design the patterns with Dunhuang frescoes elements.This paper aims to integrate the ancient Dunhuang frescoes elements with modern design concept,design a pattern of both fashionable aesthetic taste and Dunhuang features,and make the Dunhuang frescoes alive in modern life.
