This is a report on C-E consecutive interpreting.The author served as an interpreter for Hunan Commerce Department in April 2016,mainly responsible for the consecutive interpreting of service outsourcing training seminar for developing countries.The majority of the participants are government officials from developing countries.Based on the schema theory,this report analyzed the professional or non-professional problems in interpreting process.As an important part of cognitive linguistics,schema theory has gradually become a hot topic of linguistic studies.It is a system that enables people to make anticipation and ratiocination based on the common experience.This report mainly discusses how interpreters deal with the C-E interpreting based on schema theory and how they choose interpreting strategies under the linguistic,content,formal and cultural schemas.It is hoped that it could help the MTI students in handling the expression on interpreting work.A conclusion was drawn that the linguistic schema and cultural schema help greatly among the four schemas,which are also the most frequently used schema mode.The deficiency of language knowledge and background information storage will lead to low-quality interpretation output.To MTI students,they should improve their abilities related to bilingual knowledge,encyclopedic knowledge and psychological quality,among many others.It is essential to optimize the interpreting skill and to develop quick response,critical thinking and comprehension to improve interpreting work.
