A Practice Report On The Whisper Interpreting Of The World Mountain Leisure And Holiday Forum In Heibei Province

This practice report is based on two speeches addressed by Wei Xiao'an and Wang Xiaodong in the Mountain Tourism Forum held on September 25 th,2016,in Laiyuan County,Hebei Province.The audio is derived from the live recording.This report consists of five chapters: task description,interpreting process description,preparation for the interpretation practice,cases analysis and conclusion.In the first chapter,the report describes the source of the selected speeches.Chapter 2 briefly introduces the interpreting process of the whole practice.Chapter 3 and chapter 4 are the core parts of the report.In chapter 3,the report illustrates the preparation work,including collecting the background of the forum,searching for articles and videos of related topics and preparing for terms list.In chapter 4,the report discusses the successful application of whispering interpreting skills and points out the errors I made during the interpreting based on specific cases.The skills I successfully used during the interpreting involving simplification,anticipation,waiting and domestication and foreignization;while the failed cases including missing interpreting and interpretation mistakes.In the last part,I will summarize the experience from the practice,and proposed corresponding solutions to the failed cases,hoping that there will be some improvement in my interpretation and be helpful to my subsequent interpreting practice.
