Research Of The Clothes On Wall Paintings And Terracotta Figurines In Cixian's Tombs Of The Northern Dynasties

At the age of Northern Dynasties,national communication were highly frequent in Hebei district,and diversified clothing culture is flourishing and developing.Cixian,located in the south of Hebei,is one of the important areas of cultural transition.It will focus on the clothes and dress on the wall paintings and terracotta figurines in group of tombs for royal families of Northern dynasties,located in Cixian county,Hebei Province,which including the tomb of Princess Ruru,Gaorun and Mural Tomb in Wanzhang,etc.This paper is aimed at discussing national dress style,dress system and the communication between dress culture at that time.By studying their development and evolution,this paper is going to show the historical and cultural background of their generation and development,also with the borrowing from foreign culture elements,and the influence on the whole history of Chinese costume culture.National costume culture is an important part of traditional national material culture.Northen people and Han ethnic costumes have different characteristics during Northern Dynasties in this district.A long progress for them to become one had gone through the whole history of the Northern and Southern Dynasties.With political,economic and cultural advancement,the fusion counterreflected at society there.Thus gave great significance at studying costume history of this period.Record of costume culture in Hebei area are mainly in the ancient literature,while there is also evidence of real archaeological data.Being royal tombs,Cixian Tombs contains elegant wall paintings and terracotta figurines,providing important research materials.This research will be proved significant in the aspect of ancient Chinese costume culture study.
