Xi'an has been listed in the first batch of China's outstanding tourism city.The cultural relics of Xi'an enjoy the characteristics of high resource density,good preservation and high rank.As one of the most famous tourist attractions in Xi'an,Daming Palace National Heritage Park is one of the most well-preserved Palace ruins in China,attracting an increasing number of foreign tourists.Scenic spot introduction is an important way for tourists to get information of tourist attractions.It provides the tourists with the relevant natural,geographical and cultural knowledge.However,the scenic spot introductions in Daming Palace National Heritage Park are full of translation problems,such as,misspelling,poor diction,inconsistency of the translation of scenic spot names,culture-specific problems and so on.These translation problems deprive the texts of realizing their purposes and functions,which in turn affect the image of Daming Palace National Heritage Park.The translation of tourism text can be guided by the skopostheorie for its emphasis on the acceptability of the target reader.Therefore,under the guidance of the Skopostheorie,this thesis probes into the translation problems of the scenic spot introductions in Daming Palace National Heritage Park and proposes feasible translation solutions,such as inclusion of referential information,paying attention to appellative information,deletion of redundant information,recognition of receiver's former cultural knowledge,involvement of the background knowledge,explanation of implicit cultural-specific elements,etc.
