| With the application of new media tools,such as QQ,blog,WeChat,and Momo,the ways of communication are changing.In the campus with relatively simple interpersonal relations,the interpersonal communication of the middle students are changing quietly because of constraints of time and space.The use of new media tools has some positive effects on students’ study,life and mental health,but it also has some negative effects.These changes and impacts are drawing high attention from schools,families and the society.Under the above background,this paper focuses on the students between 12 to 15 years old who are at puberty in junior middle school,and their use of new media tools to the community,in order to study the effects of new media on their interpersonal communication and relationship.This paper starts from the social role of new media tools.Based on the discussion of the overall development of the current new media tools in China,and the impact on the traditional communication tools,we put forward the following two hypotheses: 1.The use of new media tools can expand the circle of friends for the junior high school students,but can not promote the formation of good interpersonal relationships;2.there is a negative impact on the the interpersonal relationship of junior high school students if they use the new media tools for a long time.In order to test the hypothesis,the research uses the interpersonal relation scale(IRS)method,designed the questionnaire “New Media Tools on Junior High School Students Interpersonal Impact Scale",and investigated the students in junior high school.The conclusions are as follows:(1)the use of new media tools for a long time has a negative impact on interpersonal relationships of junior high school students;(2)the use of new media has a positive impact on relationships when it comes to acquiring specific information and help;the use of new media has a negative impact on relationships when it comes to the purpose of playing games;(3)the choice of new media tools has no significant influence on junior high school students’ interpersonal relationshipFinally,this paper puts forward four suggestions from four angles of school,parents,society and government,middle school students themselves:(1)schools play a leading role in junior high school students’ correct use of new media;(2)parents play a supervisory role in the proper use of new media for junior high school students;(3)social and government should propagate and guide for junior high school students in the proper use of new media;(4)middle school students themselves should strengthen self-discipline and establish reasonable behavior patterns.The research of this paper has important theoretical and practical significance to give full play to the positive role of new media tools,to control or reduce its negative impact,and to promote the healthy growth of junior high school students. |
