Under the digitalized and information-oriented social background,how to transmit information more quickly,accurately,effectively and vividly in the face of the multifarious information and enormous data is one of the important missions for design communication.Visualized information design is a graphical mode of information presentation that is more understandable to people.Its core is to adopt visualized means to convert abstract and obscure data or information into intuitional and understandable graph or image,and reveal the relations and logics of the information.The application of information visualization in digitalized reading materials can not only enhance the efficiency of information acquisition,but also make the acquisition of information more convenient,diversified and interesting with the combination of the features of digital media.As digitalized reading materials enter the life of school-age children,it brings brand-new reading experience.Although the development of school-age children in physiology,psychology and cognitive thinking has been rapid,it is still not mature.In the face of the complex and abstract information in digitalized reading materials,children need the designers to re-organize,extract and purify information,and translate and create visualized information in accordance with the features of digital media.In terms of children's digitalized reading materials on science,the popularization of scientific knowledge is scientific and exploratory,and information visualization provides accurate,effective and vivid visual illustration.As a carrier,digital media provides the reading mode that integrates the interaction among visual,auditory and tactile sense.These elements can motivate a new type of reading experience that's tremendously exploratory,interactive and interesting from the content to the form.Based on the research and study on the third grade,popularization of scientific information is taken as the content,and digitalized reading materials are taken as the carrier in this paper.Through in-depth analysis of school-age children,especially the physiological,psychological and reading characteristics and habits of school-age children at the age of 9 to 12,the methods of scientific popularization,which information organization,mode of narration and visualized expression,are explored.Furthermore,methods of information design that are applicable to digitalized reading materials on scientific popularization for children are explored.This paper is divided into six chapters as follows:In Chapter I,the author introduces research background,research status at home and abroad,as well as research purpose and significance.It also clarifies research problems and innovation of this topic research.In Chapter II,characteristics of physiology,psychology and reading about children who are 9-12 in school age are analyzed.In Chapter III,the author describes relevant concepts about digital reading materials,gives particular description on various concepts involved in digitalization,concludes the requirements and suspicion of children and families to digital reading materials,and finally provides overall design plus with planning ideas.In Chapter IV,there are relevant concepts about informational design and visualization,analysis on cases from multiple perspectives,three principles of information visualization,as well as requirements of information visualization from characteristics of digital media to digital reading materials in popular science aimed at children.In Chapter V,the author gives a conclusion on methods of information organization about children's digital reading materials in popular science from the perspectives of comprehensive ability and reading requirements,provides methods of telling information combined with digital characteristics,as well as summarizes suitable and applicable methods of information visualization for digital reading materials in popular science of children in school age.The sixth chapter summarizes the satisfied conclusion of this project.
