A Practice Report On The English Translation Of Micro Manufacturing Technology(Excerpt)

As an indispensable branch of translation studies,scientific translation is gaining more and more importance in recent years.In scientific translation practices and theoretical studies,several experts and scholars applied Skopos Theory,a branch of German Functional Translation Schools,as the theoretical foundation for the scientific practice and analysis.There are three main principles in Skopos Theory,namely,Fidelity Rule,Coherence Rule and Skopos Rule,which are the core concepts of Skopos Theory.This report bases on the three main principles of Skopos Theory,and introduces case analysis in three main sections,namely,symbol adaptation translation under the guidance of Fidelity Rule,word omission translation under the guidance of Coherence Rule,and sentence adaptation translation under the guidance of Skopos Rule.In the end,the author aims to provide some instructive experiences and draw some lessons from the studies on cases and solution strategies during translation practice.
