| With the accelerated process of economic globalization,tourist industry has been increasing greatly and travel news reports are increasingly popular among tourists and visitors at home and abroad.Accordingly,English travel news has been increasingly translated and spread so as to promote the development of international tourism industry.With this in mind,this report,based on my own English-Chinese trans-editing practice in Travel Channel at huanqiu.com from October,2014 to December,2015,attempts to probe into the trans-editing of travel news from contextual,cultural,and rhetorical aspects in a frame of reference to relevance and adaptation theory.To achieve this objective,this report starts by analyzing language features of travel news in textual,syntactical,rhetorical and lexical aspects based on the collected data,namely,43 parallel English and Chinese travel news texts;it further detects and categorizes problems encountered in the process of trans-editing.This report,finally,in light of relevance and adaptation theory,puts forward solutions to the problems by proposing the trans-editing techniques,namely,omission,addition and reformulation and restructuring with the guidance of indirect translation,in the hope that it will provide certain reference value for travel news transeditors. |
