A Research On The Bamboo Flute Art Of Qu Xiang

The culture of Chinese bamboo flute has a long and tortuous history of development,forming various style of performance and schools which are represented by the southern school and northern school.Among many art schools of Chinese bamboo flute,although the art of Shan Dong bamboo flute starts fairly late,it indeed plays a significant role in the music field of Chinese bamboo flute.As the founder of the art school of Shan Dong bamboo flute,Qu Xiang is a very influential player,composer,conductor and educator of bamboo flute art.His creations mainly take the material from the Shan Dong folk songs and traditional opera,including many ensembles with western flavor.In the meantime,he also creates a lot of etudes,writing many books.His books are characterized by beautiful melody,encouraging people to overcome the difficulties.His techniques of playing bamboo flute perfectly interprets the essence of flute song,which highlights the unique style of Shang Dong bamboo flute art.As the main force of the field of Chinese bamboo flute art,Qu Xiang dedicates all his efforts into the great career of education.His rigorous attitude and unique methods of teaching cultivate many outstanding players,which further strengthens the force of school art of Shan Dong bamboo flute art.He makes great contributions to the hesitance and development of Chinese bamboo flute art.This paper chiefly summarizes the research fritus of the bamboo flute art of Qu Xiang from the following six part:The first part briefly review the art career and artistic achievements achieved by Qu Xiang.The second part mainly interprets the unique features of playing art created by Qu Xiang from two perspectives: techniques and style.The third part analyzes his works,including the characteristics and style of creation.The forth part clarifies his main achievements on the improvement of traditional bamboo flutes.The fifth part introduces his great contributions on the hesitance,diffusion and international exchange on Chinese bamboo flute art.The last part deeply analyzes the reason to form his special artistic spirit and character.At the end,it is hoped that this research will provide the performers of bamboo flute art and scholars of the culture of Shan Dong bamboo flute with more detailed materials for reference and learning.
