As China has played an increasingly important role in the international community,a rising number of foreigners are coming to China to travel, seek trade and business opportunities, conduct various activities and promote friendship, etc.Against such backdrop,cross-culture communication is becoming much more frequent, leading to increasing needs for liaison interpreting. However, due to the differences in culture, religions, values and beliefs, liaison interpreters often find themselves face some unexpected troubles in doing interpreting. This means interpreters need to be flexible and actively adopt different interpreting strategies during the interpreting process to ensure the smooth communication between different sides. This report, which starts with the author's personal experiences in doing interpreting, describes the whole process of these experiences, including the preparation before the task, the process of conducting the task and summary. Then, after briefly introducing the interpreter's subjectivity, the author cites some examples to illustrate how she takes her own subjectivity to choose different strategies in different interpreting circumstances. These strategies mainly include addition, omission and free translation.By doing so,the author hopes to explain the important role of interpreter's subjectivity in liaison interpreting so as to raise interpreter's subjectivity consciousness and propose some feasible suggestions to help interpreters better take their subjective initiative in adopting these strategies in interpreting practice.
