The use of Media Language in TCFL is one of them and one in dispute.This thesis is to resolve the problem and to make it clearer in TCFL.Based on the experiences in ZWSJ Mandarin Institute,the author made a survey on the use of media language by teachers and primary students in classes through questionnaires,classroom records,etc.The author try to figure out the methods and effects of using media language by analyzing the frequency and time of its use in classes,the advantages and disadvantages by classroom records.Thus to offer some helpful suggestion to TCFL and achieve better teaching effectiveness.In order to investigate the use of media language by teachers and primary students in classes.Firstly,the author focuses on the data collection of the survey on teachers and some students and to analyze the data and draws a conclusion about the results combined with the author’s experience.In the student survey portion,surveys from the student’s point of view about the use of media language by teachers in primary classes.The results show that media language is one of the important part in primary mandarin classes,most of students hope that teachers can explain new knowledge in Chinese first and then explain it in media language again,and about the use of media language most of student was satisfied with current way.In the teacher survey portion,survey teachers’ educational background and media language usage.And then makes an analyze and discussion of some typical classes.With the real classroom recordings analysis,the author found that although teachers are consciously control the amount of media language,but in a real classroom will still unconsciously using some very simple media language.In the choice of media language,teachers will select the media language according to the teaching content and teaching object,so in the Mandarin class in ZWSJ Mandarin Institute,as a media language English’s usage is more than Indonesian.Finally,the author offers some suggestions on the use of media language in future mandarin teaching.Appropriate use of media language be good for classroom,not only can closer relations between teachers and students and reduce students’ anxiety,but also active the classroom atmosphere and improve efficiency in the classroom.However,excessive use of media language will result in the student’s dependence on media language.So in the process of using media language teachermust be based on the student’s actual situation.Targeted on the TCFL of ZWSJ Mandarin Institute,the thesis offers some suggestions on the use of media language in future mandarin teaching.As a case study of the use of media language,the thesis still has some limits and shortages to be improved.
