The international image and status of China have increased in global,making more and more foreigners interested in Mandarin.Indonesia,as one of the countries with largest number of overseas Chinese in the world,the trend of Mandarin learning is rising.Motivation is an important factor affects language learning.Not only the intension of students but also a continuous driving force in learning process.Therefore,the motivation study of Chinese learners is of great significance.Based on the results of previous research studies,this paper investigate and analyze the academic motivation of conversation class students in the ZWSJ Institute,by means of questionnaires and student interviews.Discover that the types of learning motivation of conversation class students can divided from high to low as intrinsic motivation,instrumental motivation,integrating motivation and extrinsic motivation.Students generally have high expectations on Mandarin listening,speaking,reading and writing.Afterwards,distinguish it into three aspects as gender,age and family background carried out variance analysis on language learning motivation types,motivational intensity and learning expectation.The results show that the gender and age value make no significant difference in learning motivation types or strength and expectations.However the family language background has an obvious impact on it.Besides,we analyzed and summarized the factors that influence of learning motivation on interview conversation class of students,found that except the effect of the Chinese learning motivation factors and students' own factors,also includes family language background factors,social background factors,school factors,teaching material factors and personality factors such as teachers and peers.Last but not least,as the three aspects of school,teachers and students based on the results of investigation and interview.Offer academic suggestions to the students in conversation class.Hope to accompany ZWSJ Institute developed and helped students with learning methods.
