The Research On Literary Interpretation Of Yao Yonggai's Mengzi Jiangyi

As an outstanding figure of Tong Cheng school in late Qing dynasty,Yao Yonggai was praised as“stamina of Tong Cheng school”.He wrote the writing Mengzi Jiangyi(??????),which had a significant impact on Tong Cheng school of late Qing dynasty and even on the study of Mencius.Mencius study has developed in full bloom to Qing dynasty,but the academic circles had little research on the book Mengzi Jiangyi,so this paper analyzes Yao Yonggai(???)and his writings roundly,objectively,and spatially,on the basis of Yao Yonggai's era and his schools of literature background.As Yao Yonggai pursued his studies,he emphasized the new,the varied and the true things,he also provided a new way which is different from the past school of thought.He wrote the book of Mengzi Jiangyi in his teaching days of Zheng Zhi middle school,but it was rarely known.While this book reflected what Yao studied in his whole life,and it was one of the most important works during his time.The book not only possessed the spirit mind of the Han school of classical philology,but also mixed critical interpretation of ancient texts and higher textualcriticism together.It gave consideration to lots of feature in Song giri,what's more,it even derived the essence of the modern times thoughts.Mengzi Jiangyi has full connected logic,clear and easy understanding,vivid language,full of emotion,and it makes readers resonated easily.I've studied the existing research results of predecessors before I wrote this paper,I mainly put the foothold on the methods of literary interpretation,interpret this book of Yao from the angles of the words analysis,the metaphor resolution and the origin tracing respectively.However Yao served as the excellent representative of Tong Cheng school in late Qing dynasty,his writing mingled the predecessors'literary theories of Tong Cheng school obviously.So I interpret the Mengzi Jiangyi in the big background of“Tong Cheng literary theory”,including the doctrine of“Yifa”by Fang Bao,the“moral principles,textual criticism,poetry and prose”by Yao Nai,and the theory of“emphasizing statecraft”by Tseng Kuo-Fan.Using these to present the bilateral interaction of Mengzi(????)and the Tong Cheng literary theory in<Mencius handout>.
