The area of Lienshan in the Ming and Qing Dynasty,including Zhuang-Yao Autonomous County of Lienshan and the most of Yao Autonomous County of Liennan,was the hightest place in Guangdong Province in the south-west of Nanling mountains at that time.The Yao People and the Zhuang People,which were migrating from Hunan and Guangxi during the Song and Ming Dynasty,had done some changes for the lienshan local.On the one hand,the situation aboved has afftected settlement geography of Lienshan in Qing Dynasty.And it had also been the foundation of today’s administration area of Lienshan and Liennan.On the other hand,the conflict and convergence of lienshan nations had become the basis of administrative zones construction later,which include the move of the County Government 、 the establishment of Yishan Patrol Division and the implementation of Lienshan Sui-Yao Zhi-Li-Ting.The history of Lienshan were closely related to the Lingnan area.The case study of Lienshan could be a great example to enlarge our historical geography research in the nations of Southern China.
