| In recent years more and more children in South Korea are sent by their parents to learn Chinese and one of the obstacles of learning Chinese for Korean children is that they lack of real language environment.Chinese cartoon is a very good teaching resource.How to use Chinese cartoon to create language context is significant.The object of this paper is the Chinese animation ‘New Big Head Son and Small Head Father’(2015).This study utilizes this cartoon as the teaching materials for Chinese audio-visual class in cram school.A specific teaching plan is designed based on it.The main methods used in this study are literature research,content analysis and questionnaire survey.This paper consists of six parts:The first part introduces the status of teaching Chinese to children in South Korea and existing problems,clarifies the reasons for the study topic.The researches on using cartoons in Chinese teaching are reviewed and summarized.On this basis,the innovation points and research methods are put forward.The second part proves the feasibility about application of Chinese cartoon in Korean cram school’s Chinese class for pupils from 3 aspects – Krashen’s second language acquisition theory and Piaget’s activity center education theory,the characteristics of children’s language learning and the educational value of cartoon.The third part briefly introduces the main characters and contents of ‘New Big Head Son and Small Head Father’(2015)and then analyzes the value of the cartoon as the teaching material of Chinese audio-visual class from the perspective of vocabulary and language function.The fourth part proposes a specific teaching plan based on the animation ‘New Big Head Son and Small Head Father’(2015)in the Korean Cram School Chinese class.The teaching process consists of four parts: Audio-Visual Teaching-Listening Immersion-Imitation and Role Play.The fifth part investigates 26 learners by the questionnaire survey and analyzes the survey results.The sixth part offers the recommendations about how to apply Chinese cartoon in Korean cram school’s Chinese class for pupils including principles of choosing cartoonsand cartoon using skills. |
