A Comparative Study Of The Lute Art Of Pudong School,Wang School And Liu Dehai

The thesis chooses a very representative absolute Lute music called Chen Sui to conduct a comparative study of the artistic styles of Pudong School,Wang School and Liu Dehai.The thesis has four sections:Section One: Summarize the Lute art of Pudong School,Wang School and Liu Dehai.Looked from time the both schools and Mr.Liu Dehai come down in a continuous line and they are the schools which keep innovating the techniques and reforming their thoughts and ideas on the basis of their forefathers and thus form unique style schools.Section Two: Explore the artistic features of Chen Sui from the the historical origin of Chen Sui,a Lute music,and the detailed analysis of Chen Sui in several editions.Section Three: This is the main body of the thesis.The comparative study of the artistic styles of Chen Sui is conducted three editions including Pudong School,Wang School and Liu Dehai composition and mainly reflected by the comparison of music composition and music structure;then it is to compare the three editions from the playing techniques of the left hand and the right hand;third it is to compare the aesthetic features of the three editions;at last it compares the playing styles of the tree editions from three aspects including the music composition,the playing techniques and emotion processing.Section Four: It is a kind of inheritance from Pudong School to Wang School to the Lute art of Mr.Liu Dehai,a great master of Lute art,then the significance of inheritance lies in that the inheritance within a single school can stabilize the foundation while the communication among multiple schools can promote mutual development.About the innovation of Lute art,innovation can drive the diversified development of Lute art,creating a new tradition for the future.The author hopes to offer more hints for the playing of the representative musics of Pudong School and Wang School either from emotion or from implication on future way of performance and great help to the performance of works through the study of the thesis.Another important aspect of the thesis is the reflection on Liu Dehai's new performance of the old music called Chen Sui and the expectation.Hope the research on Liu Dehai's present works can let you understand the cultural connotation of “playing an old music in a new way” and look for the new outlet of traditional Chinese music.
