| The World Economic Forum, also known as the Davos Forum,is one of the most important international conferences.Currently, the interpretation of international conference has become an important work for interpreters.Itisinterpreter’s responsibility to remove the geographical, cultural and linguistic barriers and bridge the gap between participants. This report is based on the simulated interpretation of a Session of Davos Forum 2016:Technology Tipping Points: Digital Ubiquity, which involves the discussion of artificial intelligence,3D printing technology, bitcoin and supply chain. This report consists of five chapters. The first chapter is the description of background and task purpose, introducing the importance of interpretation of international conference, and the process and meaning of this simulated interpretation. The second chapter is the theoretical framework, dwelling on the research and development of the theory and its basic content. The third chapter elaborates on the process of simulated interpretation, including background information gathering, related vocabulary collection and possible problems in practice, and briefly introduces the interpreting process and the post-interpretation issues. The fourth chapter is the case analysis, summarizing the application of the Interpretive Theory in four aspects: structural reorganization, logical reorganization, semantic interpretation and information synthesis. The last chapter is a summary of simulated interpretation. This chapter describes the evaluation of simulation practice and inspiration,as well as the limitations of simulated interpretation.Under the framework of Interpretive Theory, the research and analysis of simulated interpretation features practical significance. The simulated-based self-practice helps to build a better understanding of the process of interpretation and tactics involved so as to improve self-training method and make better preparation for future work. |
