This is a report concerning my Chinese-English consecutive interpreting practice for a training course.In the Q&A session of the course,English-Chinese consecutive interpreting is also involved and it is even more complicated due to its unpredictability.This describes the CI task conducted by the author in the Training Course on Technicians from China-Aided Hospital for Liberia in 2015,and some analyses relevant to interpreting problems and strategies under the guidance of interpretive theory.The theme of this course is Management of Modern Hospitalswith the First Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine as an example.We can see that it is more about management than medical sciences.This thesis is composed of four parts.The first chapter gives a brief introduction to the CI task,aiming at helping the readers to get a clear picture of the background of this task including the basic information about the speaker and audience so as to understand some of the characteristics of CI training.The second chapter focuses on pre-task preparation and on-site preparation situation and discusses the significance of pre-task preparation.The third chapter presents a case study,which centers on the performance of the interpreter and the problems involved and puts forward relevant strategies.The fourth chapter is a summary of the whole report,providing some suggestions for future interpreting practice.
