A Further Study Of Notes And Commentary On Shiji's Nanyueliezhuan

The Nanyueliezhuan(????)of Shiji is a history work by Simaqian(???),written to record the rise and fall of Nanyue(??),which ruled Guangdong Province and Guangxi Province of modern China,including some areas of Vietnam.Nanyueliezhuan is allegedly the most valuable work on ancient history of Lingnan(??).There have substantial monographs to study this text,and it has been commonly used as a source for the history of the Nanyue period.The arguments for and against Nanyueliezhuan,however,remained inconclusive,which make we could not seize the true meaning of it completely.This master's thesis is written to do a further study on Nanyueliezhuan and the notes and commentary on it,such as Sanjiazhu(???),Hanshuyanzhu(????),Tongjianhuzhu(????),Shijizhiyi(????),Shijihuizhukaozheng(??????),and probe into the text from different angles.This thesis is combined with 31 Bujian(??),which draw conclusions as below.(1)Weituo(??)was another name of Zhaotuo(??);(2)Shimaqian had make a mistake;(3)Shengshi(??)is a tradition of Nanyue;(4)Point out the relation of Nanwuhou(???),Nanhaiguo(???)and Nanyue;(5)The reason why named Nanyuewudi(????);(6)Discuss the relationship of Nanyue and Changsha(??);(7)Simaqian had make a mistake;(8)Find out the meaning of Dao(?);(9)Han and Nanyue put up the sword mutually;(10)Lujia(??)had gone to Nanyue over twice probably;(11)Point out the mistakes of Hanshu;(12)Simaqian had make a mistake;(13)Point out the mistakes of Kaozheng and Hanshu;(14)Speculate the truth from the letter of Wendi(??);(15)Reconfirm the time of Zhaotuo's dead;(16)Zhaomo(??)and zhaohu(??)are both Nanyuewenwang(????)'s name;(17)Point out the mistake of Shiji and Hanshu;(18)Simaqian knew the time which Minyue(??)attacked Nanyue;(19)Yuyi(??)is a verb-object word group;(20)Xingyi(??)means Yixing(??);(21)There should not make a correction on Shiji by unearthed articles;(22)Yong(?)means Yi(?);(23)Hanshu has a wrongly written character;(24)Reduct the rise and fall of Zhao Jiande(???);(25)Wudi(??)'s imperial edict had profound meaning;(26)Calculate the right time(BC112)of the overthrow of Nanyue;(27)Refute the statement of unofficial history;(28)The Lunzan(??)of Nanyueliezhuan is beset with numerous contradictions;(29)Nakai Sekitoku(????)had make a mistake on Nv(?)and Hou(?);(30)Focus on the General Louchuan(??)'s arrogant;(31)The Lunzan of Nanyueliezhuan is genuine probably.
