“Rock” On The Yellow Land

With thousands of years of history,“Shaanxi waist drum” is one of cultural treasures of China.Generations of fine artists living on the Yellow Land develop and innovate it,and form a special dancing system.It is a double carrier of both history and spirits.In order to get deeper and analyze the spiritual and artistic connotations of Shaanxi waist drum culture,making use of different explanations and interpretation of “Taoism” and “talent” of generations of scholars,combining the understanding,perception and practice of art,and using the painting language that they learn and think to describe and demonstrate the most beautiful dance in the eyes of people of Shaanxi--Shaanxi waist drum.This article is consisted of three parts,elaborating on the my research of“Shaanxi waist drum” painting in terms of “theme selection”,“creation course” and“creation process” and recording and reflecting on the experience summarized during study and problems propping up during the process.Through thematic painting promoting and strengthening my own painting language and experiencing the vivid expression of Chinese freehand figure painting.
