A Report Of The Interpreting Practice For The Optimization Program Of A Mineral Processing Company

Along with continuous advancement of “the Belt and Road Initiative” in China,mineral processing industry,as one of the important industries in national economy and pillar industries in Yunnan,keeps closely up with national strategy.Companies in this field have developed many foreign exchanges and cooperation and integrated into international markets in various modes.From December 2015 to September 2016,a prestigious mineral processing company in Yunnan started up its optimization program.I worked as an interpreter for the program and continuously followed up the progress of the program.The optimization program has set up a platform for the mineral processing company to introduce cutting-edge foreign expertise and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation among businesses.English for mineral processing,as a branch of English for Science and Technology(EST),is a type of English for Special Purpose(ESP),featuring with practicability and professionalism.It gives me the conviction that this interpreting task has its practical application value and academic value.Interpreting for this field is with realistic guiding significance.The Interpretive Theory proposed by Seleskovich has its wide use in interpreting practice.Based on related interpreting techniques and this interpreting practice,I collected abundant interpreting materials and made a summary of the interpreting process and result.Finally the report is completed.This report is composed of two sections.The first section is the transcript.The second section is divided into four parts.The first part gives background of the interpreting task,including introduction to the company,background and significance of the task.The second part is interpreting process.The preparation and implementation of the interpreting task is explicitly described.The third part is case study.Examples are given to demonstrate what specific interpreting theory and techniques are used.The forth part is summary and reflections.At the end of the report,list of technical terms is attached.Hopefully,this report will provide guidance and reference not only to me but also to whoever works in this field.
