Environmental problems are becoming increasingly more critical with the development of human society. The more progress human society has made, the more prominent environmental problems have become.American writer Amy Larkin associates environmental crisis with economic crisis, presenting the causes and solutions to environmental debt in her book entitled Environmental Debt: the Hidden Costs of A Changing Global Economy.Taking Chapter Two,Environmental Debt and Chapter Four,Courage from the book as translation materials and using the relevance theory as the theoretical instruction to guide the translation practice in three respects: relevance of contextual effects, relevance of language structure and translator's awareness of relevance, this thesis analyzes problems and strategies in the translation of environmental texts and summarizes all the findings and deficiencies in this translation practice.
