Tsangyang Gyatso(1683-1706)is the Sixth Dalai Lama in Tibet,while Li Yu(937-978)is the last emperor of the Southern Tang,they are poets of great significance in Tibetan and Chinese classical literature respectively.They’ve had similar experiences,as both of them were once the leader of a country or a certain area,they failed in leading but were known for their poetic achievements.Tsangyang Gyatso’s love songs and Li Yu’s ci enjoy a high reputation in Tibetan and Chinese literal history respectively.They are excellent language arts and are highly praised by the readers.Based on these similar facts,the love songs and Li Yu ci deserve more attention in the comparative literature between Tibetan and Chinese.In this paper,the author explores the different lyric style between the love songs and Li Yu ci,and try to answer the questions of what are the lyric styles of the love songs and Li Yu ci and how do they achieved by the language.The first chapter introduces where does this paper topic come from and what is the research significance,the present situation,the research content,and the research method.The second chapter are brief biographies of the two poets,through which Tsangyang Gyatso’s and Li Yu’s cultural backgrounds,life experiences and personality can be revealed.Afterwards the study moves from the external research into the internal research.The first three sections in the third chapter are used to elaborate the poem spreads,edition problems,pronunciation features,stylistic features and the contents of the love songs and Li Yu ci.The analysis pay lots of attention to the influence from the cultural backgrounds and the literary tradition and try to show the original features and literary significance of the love songs and Li Yu ci.The last two sections in the third chapter compare the lyric styles of the love songs and Li Yu ci from five different angle of views: language pronunciation,stylistic tone,poetic scansion,motif,and rhetorical device.Through these compare work,the love songs reveal a lively and humorous lyric style,while Li Yu ci reveals a implicit and euphemistical lyric style.The difference between them are not just literal,but work out together by all the internal elements in a poem which must be treated as a complicated organism.By studying the different lyric style between the love songs and Li Yu ci,not only will we understand more about the two poems,but help further conprehension in the comparative literature between Tibetan and Chinese.The comparative literature between Tibetan and Chinese is an subject which starts in modern times and looks news for people.Because of the large linguistic,cultural,and regional differences between Tibetan and Chinese,the attention and achievements on this subject are not rich,which of course is a disadvantage of cultural exchange between the two Peoples.Cultural exchange between countries and Peoples are more and more important,both the Tibetan and the Chinese literature researchers should take a broad view from others so as to understand more about ourselves.The author’s goal is to broaden the view of the comparative literature between Tibetan and Chinese through the compare between Tsangyang Gyatso’s love songs and Li Yu ci,that is,to obtain a new way of understanding ourselves through appreciating another different thing. |
