Guild hall is a social organization built through raising funds by gentry and merchant,etc with same nationality or in the same industry in commercial town and resettlement area during period of Ming and Qing Dynasty in China.It has been lasting to the Republican period.Guild hall first appears in the history stage as examination hall which serves for imperial examinations.Then it develops with rapid momentum.Commercial and immigrant guild hall are successively built.It first appears in Beijing,and then it is expanded to various regions around the nation.Activities in guild hall involve aspects such as in politics,economy and culture.It has important influences during Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republican period in China.Guild hall is built late in Xinjiang than in inland.After Qing Dynasty unifies Xinjiang,it implements immigrant border strengthening policies.Inland population immigrate to Xinjiang in a large number,and flow in various places to the north of Mount Tianshan.This is the population basis built by guilt hall in Xinjiang.With the commercial development and rising and development of commercial cities and town in Xinjiang,guild hall begins to rise and develop in various regions.Though guilt hall is built late in Xinjiang than in inland,with less scale and amount than inland,it also exerts influences in development of modern society in Xinjiang.It can be said that guilt hall is the embodiment of modern society development,especially commercial development in Xinjiang.With forming and development of guild hall in various places in Xinjiang as the center,this essay mainly discusses reason and general development situation for the forming of guilt hall and influences of guilt hall in Xinjiang society.This essay mainly discusses general situation of inlanders immigrating to Xinjiang,process of forming,development and declining of guild hall in Xinjiang,and introduces guilt hall in main cities in northern Xinjiang.It makes analysis into the functions and influences of guild hall.Based on this,it summarizes characteristics guilt hall itself has.
