Research On Hunanese In Xinjiang Between Late-Qing Dynasty And The Republic Of China

It is integral for Hunanese to achieve the modernization of Xinjiang,especially hunanese in Xinjiang military,political,cultural and educational circles etc,account ed for the larger proportion,and often stood important position between Late-Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,whose thoughts and actions had a significant effect on the modern civilization and progress of Xinjiang.During Late-Qing dynasty,Zuo zong-tang who was imperial commissioner and oversaw military affairs of Xinjiang for recovering Xinjiang,Liu Jin-tang who was the first governor of Xinjiang;Wei Guang-dao who was original general of Xinjiang;Luo Chang-hu,Tan Ba-cui,Huang wan-peng and Yu Hu-en etc,and the hunanese soldiers around TianShan,who paid full of zeal and even lifefor destroying Yakoob aggressive forces and hit foreign invasion from England and Russia.There were three governors like Liu Jin-tang,Wei Guang-tao and Pan Xiao-su in all eight governors of Xinjiang province.In addition,there were also Tan Shang-lian who is local admiral,HuangBing-kunwho was Tao-tai,Fang Yousheng who is commander-in-chief etc,and a large number of lower-middle-class hunanese military and civilian officials like Jiang Shi-xiu in Xinjiang.they either formulated or implemented the line,principles and decision,which influenced the process of the modernization of Xinjiang,and communication,integration and progress of the ideology and culture among all peoples in Xinjiang.During the period of the Republic of China,Democratic revolutionaries led by Liu Xian-jun held high the banner of beginning of the 1911 Revolution,which inspired so many people to struggle for overthrowing the rule of Qing Dynasty in Xinjiang and realizing democratic republic;It cannot to be underestimated for Xinjiang financial reform pioneers led by Mao Ze-min to develop Xinjiang's modernizing economy.Hunanese officers and soldiers led by Tao Zhi-yue and Tao Jin-chu raised the banner of peaceful uprising,contributing to the peaceful transition in Xinjiang,and preserving the old construction achievements of Xinjiang,which wasnot only benefit the people in Xinjiang,but also benefit China.This article focuses on the activities and significance of Xinjiang hunanese between Late-Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.Writing mainly centres on humanese sources,distribution and a series of their activities about political,military,economic,culture and education and the society circles in Xinjiang,follows the clue about development of Xinjiang modernization to discuss them,and aim to explore and explain humanese activities and the hunan spirit among all nations in Xinjiang's modernization and the impact between national communication and integration,etc.
