Since the founding of new China,the development of Guzheng has become increasingly rapid.Recent years,Chinese traditional culture has become more popular,which makes more composers are eager to set foot in Guzheng fields and have produced a lot of Guzheng music.Based on traditional music,most Guzheng composer’ music creation have added some innovation,including composer Tao Yimo.Without no doubt,Tao’s work offers a new way for Guzheng music creation.Not only in texture and harmony,but also rhythm,his work is different from traditional Guzheng music.In his creation,traditional freehand brushwork in Chinese philosophy has been combined with western modern thinking and a variety music creation techniques.Compared with other modern music music,Tao’s music have some new difficulties for player.First,players need to have a complete and detailed understanding to repertoire,and their own imagination is also essential for playing In addition,Tao’s music ask for higher performance techniques for players,because his music often appears the unconventional rhythm,two hands alternating fast playing,and the detailed grasp of mono lines.This articles will have list and analysis to Tao Yimo’s music.Through author’s study to Tao’s《Layer upon layer of water ripples》,combined with her own learning and playing practice,she analyses Tao Yimo’s music.Author will list and analyse Tao’s creative concept,creative characteristics,playing techniques and the performance emotion.It is hoped that through this paper players will have a better provide some references for modern Guzheng music players.
