Translation Report Of Metllurgical Texts

Faced with the situation of current Chinese steel productivity excess,large-scale groups with poor economic returns,it is important to raise the competition ability for domestic steel enterprises.Foreign experience and technology are worthy of our reference.The metallurgical texts are one kind of EST.One of the distinguished features of EST is the extensive use of the passive structure.In order to ensure the translation practice with high quality,we must deal with the passive structure correctly through the precise use of words and grammar.In the translation of these texts,the translation principles and skills should be used with great flexibility.Therefore,this report is based on the metallurgical texts to explore the application of the passive structure: the definition,the basic structure,the semantic features and how to make the translation faithfulness and conform to the Chinese expressions.Combined with the problems in this translation practice,the report puts forward four translation methods of passive structure:translating into active sentences in Chinese,the passive sentences in Chinese,Chinese no-subject sentences and amplification.
