Mating-behavior has been a hot research of psychology and sociology, and has formed a mature and perfect theoretical system at home and abroad, such as parental idol theory, parental investment model, etc. In real life, the interaction with the opposite sex will have an important influence on the individual behavior, especially the rejection of the opposite sex will have a negative effect on the individual behavior, and then affect the mate choice behavior; However, some scholars believe that the rejection of the mate does not have a significant impact on individual behavior;and even some individuals have frequent social activities in order to meet their own needs. The theory of social meter holds that self-esteem is an important factor in monitoring the quality of interpersonal relationship,so the study aims to explore the influence of self-esteem as one of the main variables of individuals from the perspective of deep psychology. However, the study of self-esteem,inconsistent conclusions, until scholars put forward the heterogeneity hypothesis of high self-esteem,people began to notice the difference of defensive high self-esteem and other high self-esteem.Because college students are in the important life stage of intimate relationship with the opposite sex, they will inevitably be rejected by the opposite sex,so the study tries to explore the moderating role of self-esteem in college students’ opposite and Choosing a Mate behavior, and explore the change of individual behavior after the opposite sex.The study mainly uses the situational experimental simulation and questionnaire to explore the influence of heterosexual refusal and self-esteem on college students’ mate selection behavior.First, explore the moderating role of self-esteem in the opposite sex rejection and college students’ mate selection behavior. On the basis of the study, second, through a situational experiment of interaction with the opposite sex,to explore the changes of different types of high self-esteem when they are rejected by the mate rejection. The purpose of this study is to explore the moderating role ofself-esteem in heterosexual rejection and mate selection.Using questionnaires to measure college students’ specific rejection experience,self-esteem and Choosing a Mate behavior. The results show that self-esteem plays a moderating role in the opposite sex rejection and mate selection.Among them, the individual of low self-esteem,their standards of mate selection and behavior tend to decrease significantly with the increase of the heterosexual refusal; In the individuals with high self-esteem,their standards of spouse selection and behavior tend to increase with the rejection of the opposite sex, this effect decline is not significant. The purpose of this study is to explore the moderating role of self-esteem in heterosexual rejection and mate selection.Using questionnaires to measure college students’ specific rejection experience,self-esteem and Choosing a Mate behavior. The results show that self-esteem plays a moderating role in the opposite sex rejection and mateselection.Among them, the individual of low self-esteem,their standards of mate selection and behavior tend to decrease significantly with the increase of the heterosexual refusal; In the individuals with high self-esteem,their standards of spouse selection and behavior tend to increase with the rejection of the opposite sex, this effect decline is not significant. In view of the complexity of high self-esteem,the situational experimental simulation method is used to explore the differences of different types of high self-esteem in mate selection behavior. The results show that, under the condition of opposite sex,the true high self-esteem score is higher than that of defensive high self-esteem,and there are significant differences in the behavior tendency between the two, there is no significant difference in the criteria of mate selection.Conclusion:(1)Self-esteem plays a moderating role in the heterosexual rejection and mate selection behavior, the specific performance is:the individual with low self-esteem increases with the opposite of the opposite sex,the standards of mate selection and behavior tendency obviously fall;Individuals with high self-esteem experienced an increase in the number of heterosexual couples, and their standards of spouse selection and behavior tendency declined.(2)After the opposite of the mate rejection, the type of the defensive high self-esteem individual experience to more rejection than the true high self-esteem,and the defensive high self-esteem score lower, there is significant difference between the two.
