A Study On Metaphor Acquisition Of Thailand Students

Metaphor is one of the most common and widely used rhetorical devices in Chinese rhetoric system. However,foreign students often appear various types of errors in the process of acquisition,and these errors also have a certain degree of country-specific features.Therefore,this paper starts from Chinese metaphor,63 Thailand students who were taught by the author were investigated by using the method of questionnaire.The errors are classified and attributed,and put forward the relevant suggestion aim at Thailand students metaphor teaching.This paper is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is "introduction",it mainly expounds the reasons for choosing this topic,research status,research methods and related theoretical basis,commanding the whole paper.Chapter two is about the investigation of the acquisition of Thailand students’metaphorical sentences,and expounds the purpose,methods and forms of the questionnaire design, as well as the Chinese level and the investigation methods.Chapter three is the collation and counting of 52 valid questionnaires.On the basis of the four basic elements of Chinese metaphor:ontology,metaphor,metaphoical words and similarities,summed up the Thailand students analogy acquisition of five common types of errors,combined with questionnaires for analysis.Chapter four aims at the generalization of the above five types of errors,the author makes an analysis of the errors from the aspects of the learner’s individual factors and external factors.Chapter five presents thoughts and teaching suggestions on the teaching of metaphor sentences for Thailand students in the following aspects:the compilation of textbook,the teaching of teachers and the learning of learners.Chapter six is the conclusion, the author summarizes the research results of this paper,and point out the limitations of this article and the place to be improved.
