In language policy research,language testing is widely recognized as a tool for language policy.At present,foreign language examinations play a very important role in our foreign language education policy,including one of the largest foreign language examinations.However,in recent years,the community for English education and CET-4/6 criticism of many,many reforms still did not completely solve some of the widespread problems.Foreign language experts pointed out that the problems do exist,but we cannot solve these problems by simply relying on language testing technology to,the main reason is the impact brought about by the use of such test results.In recent years,the use of CET-4/6 certificates as the representative of the use of foreign language test results have been more and more attention,there are scholars who began to explore the CET-4/6 exam social factors.However,most of the domestic research to describe the social factors brought about by the impact and results,but rarely the reasons for its deep analysis and interpretation.This paper studies the college English CET-4/6 from two perspectives of language policy and sociology.The author studies the two policy reforms of CET-4/6 examinations as the breakthrough point,and deeply analyzes the deep reasons why the reform purpose cannot be realized well.This paper first integrates the theory of onions and the theory of cultural capital in sociology,and explains the feasibility of analyzing the problem from the perspective of super discipline,which lays a theoretical foundation for the concrete analysis.In the main part of the paper,the first part shows the fact that the reform does not obtain the expected result through the description of the actual situation in each dynamic level,and explains it according to the theory of cultural capital.Through the concrete analysis of different levels,it can be seen that the large-scale foreign language examination,represented by CET-4/6 as an institutionalized cultural capital,has its inherent legitimacy characteristic,which provides two kinds of active level in the relevant foreign language policy.The available features,that is,the persistence of differences and the likelihood of sorting,and the interaction between the top-down and bottom-up linguistic policies resulting from interaction and influence,Class exams in the community of various practical problems.Therefore,the use of test reform and results should be aimed at the process of reform and management of complex relationships and reasons,according to different purposes,to reduce the level of a test in the cultural capital characteristics.At the same time,through the examination of diversity and other systematic reform,to make up for a reduction of the characteristics of a test cultural capital brought about by the lack of social function.
