"mei de shuo" is a common expression of modern Chinese spoken language.The essay studies "mei de shuo" in different angels.Firstly,the article analyzes the modern Chinese "mei de shuo" from the synchronic perspective.The expression has a variety of meanings,which can be expressed as objective facts,can be involved in subjective emotion,can be expressed as the speaker's emotional attitude,can be expressed as subjective judgment and "degree" and the discourse marker,which do not affect the truth of the sentence.At the same time,the statistics of the "mei de shuo" in the modern Chinese is obtained.Secondly,the article studies its lexicalization and grammaticalization,analyzes its motivation and mechanism from the diachronic perspective.Through the corpus observation,"mei de shuo" has two evolution path,one is lexicalization,one is the grammaticalization.Metaphor,chunk and pragmatic reasoning are the main motivation and mechanisms of lexicalization.Intersubjectivity and intere-subjectivization are the main motivations and mechanisms of their grammaticalization.Thirdly,“mei de shuo”has the tendency of goodness,and the article analyzes the opacity of the relationship and meaning of "mei de shuo".Discourse marker has the different locations,which can appear in the beginning of sentence,the middle of the sentence and the end of the sentence.Discourse marker mainly appears in middle of the sentence.And the discourse marker appearing in middle of the sentence is in different logical relations,such as: cause and effect,assumptions,conditions,etc.The essay mainly analysizes the discourse function and communication function.Finally,from diachronic perspective the essay analyzes the different historical evolution of "mei de shuo" and "mei shuo de".From the synchronic perspective,the eaasy analyzes similarities and diferrences of "mei de shuo" and "mei shuo de".Their diferrences are reflected in the fact that "mei de shuo" has a transitional and that "mei shuo de" does not exist;"mei de shuo" means that finished and nothing to say,or objectively no words to say;and "mei shuo de" can only mean that there is nothing to say."mei shuo de " can be followed with the word “de”.Their similarities are reflected in the fact that "mei de shuo" and "mei shuo de" contain the speaker's emotional attitudes,the speaker's subjective affirmation of judgement,degree of meaning and discourse markings.
