As a way of cultural exchange, literary translation has abundant power of expression and appeal. And the translation of children's literature has some specialties besides the general characteristics of literary translation. In a broad sense,medio-translatology refers to a cross-cultural study of translation, especially of literary translation, from the cultural level. And localization refers to the deep appropriation resulting from cultural filtration, translation and acceptance after literature is introduced into another culture. The appropriation is mainly manifested in the essential changes of the cultural rules and literary discourse of the literature itself after it's entering into other countries. Therefore, localization is an important part of the study of literary translation, and even of the study of children's literary translation. The Secret Garden is a classic children's literature, whichis written by Frances Hodgson Burnett,a worldwide famous children's literature writer. This novel has been translated into more than 50 languages since it was first published in 1911.Even in China,it has many kinds of versions. After this novel is introduced and translated into China,it is studied by many scholars in China from different angles. However, ithas not yet been studiedof the localization from the perspective of medio-translatology.This thesis uses the theory of medio-translatology to study the localization in two Chinese versions of The Secret Garden. It takes ShenYaling's version and Chen Junqun's version as examples. So the study is mainly on the differences between two Chinese versions and the original version based on medio-translatology.And the differencesare mainly in the style, culture and format. Finally, this thesis summarizes the main findings of this study, which may provide a new way of thinking on the translation and introduction of foreign children's literature into China, and reference for other related or similar studies. This thesis analyzes two Chinese versions of this novel mainly in the style, culture and format.Among them, the research of style is mainly reflected in changes of literary language.Cultural studies are mainly reflected in changes of cultural rules. And the study of format is focused on changes of the layout in two books. In the translation of two Chinese versions, the domestication translation is more conducive to the localization. And in the process of translation, the translator needs to do more thinking and efforts to promote the localization of outstanding literary works. The localization of classic foreign children's literatureis able to promote the development of Chinese children's literature, and to improve the growing environments of Chinese children.
