As everyone knows,Lewis Carroll who wrote the Alice series book is an important English author in the world of children's literature.However,few people know that the achievements he gain in the field of literature and drama were original from his exploration of photography.The thesis emphasizes on the career of Lewis Carroll's photography by both objective level of historically social factors and subjective level of personal factors:In the historical background of Britain's industrial revolution and quick development of photo medium in the victorian era,also around the child photography which Carroll was clinging on,it mainly explores how his works show the characteristics and value of "intimate and private photography" via the analysis of photographical language and the stories behind the images.And also,I analyses the symbolic significance of his works from the aspect of image study,and also give the critic of his shooting manners and habits from the angle of psychology.His extraordinary photography techniques,avant-grade thinking logic and strong practical skills prove that Lewis Carroll has great influence on the history of photography.The research will help people to know more about the contribution of what carroll had done in the field of photography.
