In the period of the Republic of China,the country faced internal disturbance and foreign aggression,groups of intellectuals who had a strong national consciousness came into being.Especially after the success of War of Resistance Against Japan,the Kuomintang's rule came more and more corruption,causing the intellectuals' strong dissatisfaction.Chu An-ping and other contemporary liberal intellectuals were ideal and held high participation in politics,they tried to affect the political by founding newspapers and express opinions.During this period,ChuAn-pingestablished the Observer Weekly which attracted numbers of intellectuals making political points and creating the peak of The Scholars' Debated Politics and that was also also laid the status for Chu An-ping in the history of Chinese journalism.Chu An-ping was an important intellectual,critic,editor in the period of the Republic of China.His sharp articles,sharp words,wide field vision and broad-minded,left him a deep impression in Chinesehistory.After the founding of the PRC,because of his radical remarks,Chu An-ping's ultimate fate was regrettable.And due to Chu An-ping's special status,the academic community rarely studiedhim and that was the value of studing him.Though the rotten role and lax people,Chu An-ping carried a sense of responsibility and mission that a intellectual should had regardless of his personal safety,which had always been awe by the researchers.Throughout Chu An-ping's life,his activities and work were closely related to run a newspaper.The Observer was the pinnacle of his personal career which had been founded after the civil war's outbreak.For more than 20 years since the Kuomintang's rule,aspects of the social came into corruption which became the object of criticism by Chu An-ping.In spite of his independent stand,basically,Chu An-ping still held hope for Kuomintang.Therefore,While criticizing Kuomintang,Chu An-ping also put forward many constructive opinions to help the government to develop.His brave and sincerity exerted a significant impact on both intelligentsia and common people.Referred to the political characteristics of the period of the Republic of China,the paper aimed at analyzing his materials and comparing with other contemporary famous scholars' ideas to get his ideology features,by researching his personal experience and articles on the Observer Weekly.The paper was divided into two parts.The first part was introduction.On the basis of Chu An-ping's role in the history of Chinese Journalism and the overseas and domestic research status about him,it first elaborated the background and meaning on the research,then initially gathered and categorized the research achievements about Chu An-ping's thoughts.At present,the study on Chu An-ping was mainly distributed at home,dividing into three periods,respectively were the fifties of the twentieth century,the late eighties of the 20 th century and the 21 st century.The first stage of the research was very few or mostly on negative research;In the second stage,Dai Qing who first researched it from the positive perspective,while there were still few researchers.A large number of researchers payed more and more attention to him and mainly focused on his life,literary thought,news thought and political thought emerged in the third stage.The second part was the text of the article contained three chapters.The firstchapter was Chu An-ping's press activities before the Observer Weekly.According to the time order,this part would card his life path,and then expound his press activities on this basis.Before The Observer,Chu An-ping had ditted publication for about seven times,and three of them were most important.They were Guanghua Weekly when Chu An-ping was still a student in university,the Central Park he edited before graduation but after the early stage of going abroad;the Objective Weekly between the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan and the beginning of the civil war.Among them,the Objective magazine played a significant rloe in Chu An-ping's activities career,it was the first time that Chu An-ping had showed his political thought integrally.According to his works on the Objective Weekly,his articles mainly criticized Kuomintang,suggestted the government to improve people's livelihood from the specific measures and analyzed the Communist Party objectively.In the specific activities on running the newspaper,Chu An-ping accumulated a lot of experience that later used by founding and operating the Observer Weekly.The secondchapter focused on his political thoughts on the Observer Weekly.It was the core of the full text which divided into five parts.First it introduced the publication's founding and operating,then explored the source of his thoughts from the domestic tradition of “Literati on Politics” and the impact of foreign Laskiism.In addition,by interpreting and analyzing the text of his works to get the contents,characteristics and shortcomings of Chu An-ping's thoughts.Among them,the contents were the most important part which showedhis attitude to the government.The main characteristic of this chapter was to comprehensively understand and grasp the political ideology of Chu An-ping,and at the same timeprovided a reference for later researchers according to the characteristics of his articles.The last chapter was on enlightenments that learnt from his thoughts.The speech style of Chu An-ping was really a kind of characteristic of that times,which had great significance not only at that time but also for the present.The rise of new media took a great impack to the traditional media in terms of information dissemination and public opinionin today.In the era of multi-value,the mainstream media should bear some responsibility in guiding the public opinions and political writing,etc.
