A Research On Students In University Of Kelaniya,Learning Chinese Measure Words

Quantifiers are one of the significant part of the Chinese language. But the large count of quantifiers has brought great difficulties to foreign language learners. Measure words, is a difficult part in teaching Chinese as well. The research focuses on findings on how to solve the problems in learning Chinese quantifiers, of Chinese learners of University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. The Chinese learners at the University of Kelaniya have a lot of difficulties in understanding and using the quantifiers in textbooks. This study combines the teaching materials and the outline, hoping to raise the teaching suggestions or countermeasures against the Sri Lankan students' problems, difficulties and deviations through the questionnaire survey. Disputed points are mainly in multi-words, fewer words,wrong words and word dislocations. At the same time, I advocate the teaching of different levels, variety of interesting ways of teaching.Firstly, the study introduces the research background and reasons, the purpose and significance of the study, research methods and objects. Then it discusses the problem of teaching measure words. First of all, what is a measure word in Chinese. Secondly, it introduces the meaning and types of classifiers. Finally, the paper discusses how to carry out teaching measure words and summarizes the methods of teaching materials. ? mainly focused on the measure words in "New Practical Chinese Reader" volume ? to volume ?.Then the study analyzes the situation of the teaching measure words in the university. First of all, it analyzes the teaching methods. Secondly, the paper explains the difficulties and errors of the students' learning measure words, and the errors of the university students'using measure words. Finally describes some suggestions on teaching methods, supplements and motivation.
