Based on the comparison of the differences between Chinese and Thai classifiers,this paper investigates the errors of Chinese classifiers acquired by Thai students in the form of a questionnaire,and analyzes the causes of the errors by interviewing the students who filled in the questionnaire and the local Chinese teachers.Finally,in view of the causes of these errors,the paper puts forward Suggestions for improvement of teachers and textbooks,in the hope that this will shed some light on the teaching of Chinese classifier.The main body of this paper is divided into three chapters: the first chapter is mainly about the comparative analysis of Chinese and Thai classifiers from the three aspects of classification,semantics and usage,including the similarities and differences between Chinese nominal classifiers and Thai nominal classifiers,which lays a foundation for the subsequent research.The main content of the second chapter is to sort out the error categories of Chinese noun quantifier acquired by Thai students and analyze the reasons for the error.Firstly,the author introduced some situations of respondents,including the proportion of time and sex in learning Chinese.Secondly,data analysis was carried out on the results of the questionnaire.Based on the feedback from local Chinese teachers and students involved in the survey,the author summarizes five reasons.The third chapter puts forward some improvement Suggestions on the teaching methods and students and the content of the textbook.It includes training students’ Chinese thinking,attaching importance to the comparative analysis of noun quantifiers,and strengthening the exercises of noun classifiers in case of students’ errors.
