Shengjiaoxu also known as the order of Tang Monk,was wrote by Tang taizong the famous emperor of Tang dynasty.In the history of calligraphy,it had two versions,the regular script was handwrote by Chu suiliang the famous calligrapher in Tang dynasty,the running script was collected from the works of Wang xizhi by the famous monk called Huairen in the beginning of Tang dynasty,and he spent more than 20 years to finish the collection.Because Shengjiaoxu was so famous in the history of Chinese calligraphy,so it was praise highly after Tang dynasty and it was still the important version to imitate.The regular script was deposited in Dacien temple,it also had another name because the famous wild goose pagoda.Except the preamble,the script also had another part wrote by Tang gaozong,the third emperor of Tang dynasty.The running script also include "Heart sutra".The running script was collected from the works of wang xizhi by the famous monk called Huai ren in the beginning of Tang dynasty.The running script was finished later 19 years than the regular script,but both of these two versions still have played a unique role in writing techniques and artistic creation for many calligraphers and calligraphy art lovers.This article start from the content of Shengjiaoxu.Firstly,to study its religional values from the perspective of Buddha and analyze the hardships of the pilgrimage for Buddhist scriptures;Secondly,to study the calligraphy art value of Shengjiaoxu from the perspective of the calligraphy,and analyze the understanding,inheritance and development for Shengjiaoxu after Tang dynasty from the calligrapher's life,characteristics,calligraphy ideology and works.Finally,from the perspective of criticism,to have a study about the influence on contemporary calligraphy art research and creation.This paper includes five parts: the first part is the introduction.The second part is the content and its religious values.The third part is the calligraphy value.The four part is to analyze the understanding of Shengjiaoxu after the tang dynasty.And the last part is to analyze its present value.
