Xiangfu tone,originated in Kaifeng,Henan province,has a long history.After three hundred years of development,Xiangfu tone has become one of the important branches in Bangzi series,named Henan Bangzi(lately known as Yu opera).Yu opera gradually developed into different branches,such as Yudong tone,Yuxi tone and Shahe tone.As representative of Yu opera,“Six famous Dan Actors” in this period deeply loved by ordinary people.However,at first Henan opera had not been involved intellectuals attention,for it had always been "Local Bang Drama" appearance.After the founding of New China,Yu opera get a great development,but Xiangfu tone,compared with other dramas,hasn't reconstructed the originally glory conditioned by many factors.Xiangfu tone is the root of Yu opera,also is the singing mainstream of Yu opera.Understanding the development of Xiangfu tone has a very important significance for the revitalization of Yu opera.This article is divided into four sections,mainly discusses the origin,development,innovation and difficulties facing by Xiangfu tone,through which to forecast the Yu opera's development.The second chapter highlighted Mr.Fan Cuiting,“Father of the Modern Yu Opera”,who devoted to Xiangfu tone and especially the development and innovation of Yu opera when the “Local Bang Drama” was despised by intellectuals.He makes great contributions to performance,instrumental music,costumes,stage and directing,especially in adaptation and creation,which not only retains the original tone,but makes the singing more simple,plain,refined and valuable.Besides Fan,Xiangfu tone artists like Chen Suzhen,Guan Lingfeng are also very famous.Through years of stage experience and actors' views,these reforms in the Xiangfu tone make people have a better understanding of them.Today the Xiangfu tone has a gradually declining trend,which makes not only the Xiangfu tone itself,but the entire Yu opera career face a new challenge collision time with new media digital environment.In the fourth chapter through the way of sample survey and interview with private theater reveals the reality and challenge faced by Yu opera in the new period.The ultimate goal of opera is to serve everybody in the society,so the starting point of this article is from the perspective of ordinary people to concern the development Xiangfu tone and the whole Yu opera.
