As the core component of executive function,inhibition plays an important role in the cognitive process which is closely related to people's daily life.Inhibition is the ability to suppress the irrelevant stimulus to the current task when we are performing a task.There are three forms of expression: suppress the habitual dominant response,suppress the irrelevant stimulus,suppress the newly formed dominant response.It has been proved that aerobic exercise can promote the development of inhibition function,but it is not clear whether there are different effects of different sports on the inhibition function.In this study,we choose the modern popular fitness and traditional martial arts training,to explore the difference of long-term effects on the inhibition.Results:(1)Stroop task induced the Stroop effect successfully,compared to the consistent of color and words task,the inconsistent color and words task had a longer latency and larger amplitude,the group effect was remarkable on N2 amplitude(P<0.001),exercise group had a larger N2 amplitude than other two groups.Under the condition of inconsistent of color and words task,the P3 amplitude was significantly different,and the martial arts group was highest.(2)Flanker task showed significant interaction(P<0.05)on the N2 amplitude,while the disturbance amplitude of the control group was significantly higher than that of the noninterference task.Under the interference task,the group main effect of P3 latency was remarkable(P<0.05),martial arts group was longer than the other two groups.(3)In the Go/Nogo task,the main effect of N2 condition was significant,and the latency and amplitude of N2 and P3 in Nogo were significantly higher than those of Go,and the N2 amplitude of the exercise group was significantly higher than that of the martial arts group and the control group.There was no significant difference of P3,under Nogo condition,the amplitude of martial arts group was higher than the other two groups.Conclusion:(1)Long term physical exercise could promote the inhibition function,the exercise group was better than the control group.(2)Different sports had different influence on inhibition function,which were different in three components,the students of traditional martial arts were better at the ability of suppressing the habitual dominant response and suppressing the newly formed dominant response,while fitness group's students had a better ability of inhibiting irrelevant stimulus.
